Minneapolis Beer Fest!

Heading over to Beerfest in downtown Minneapolis Saturday night. Looks like it should be a good time. Beer, food and music! What more could you ask for!

I can get my Seger fix on iTunes! Its about time Bobbie boy finally came around.

Cobain Signature Jaguar – Really?

I really wish companies (or the family) would quit trying to make dough off dead famous musicians. Besides, from what I know about Kurt, he would have hated the idea of a “signature” guitar being sold with his name on it.

Geddy Lee’s Isolated Track From Vital Signs

I love listening to these isolated tracks. Its almost like listening to the player play their part in front of you. Cool!

New Van Halen album…

Rumors flying around that the new VH album is done and mixed. Reminds of when I was a kid when a new VH album was announced it was dropping, I’m kinda excited. I hope it doesnt suck.

What its like to work in a music store

Every once in a while I thought it would be cool to work in a music store, then I see things like this.

Mr Big having some fun…

I love it when bands have fun live. Mr Big jamming on a cover of Smoke On The Water and everyone is playing an instrument other than their own.

Tracking Workouts on the iPad

I’ve been looking for a decent app to track my workouts using my iPad. There is a bunch out there and most of them suck. The only one that I have found that has a simple interface which acts like a simple pad and paper, but also allows you to save a workout so you can repeat it is WorkoutJournal. For $2.99 its not a bad deal.  Here is a screenshot of the interface:

There is another app that is very similar called My Workouts, but it doesnt allow you to save your workouts as a template so you can just copy it the next time you do the same work out. That was a big feature for me, I dont want to have to type all the exercises in each time I work out.

Behind the scenes of Eric Johnson’s Saucer Studios

Pretty damn cool. I love watching walk through videos of different personal studios.

2012 Thin Lizzy Tour?

Thin Lizzy announced a UK tour for early 2012 with Ricky Warwick, formerly of The Almighty, on lead vocals.  Thin Lizzy already has a full touring schedule for the US this fall with pals Judas Priest. Thin Lizzy toldNME earlier this year they’re also considering a new studio album. If so, it would be their first since the death of frontman Phil Lynott in 1986.

Thin Lizzy has always been one of my favorite bands but this has to be one of the dumbest things I have read in a while. Without Phil, there is no Thin Lizzy. His voice was the signature sound of the band. To go out on tour without him is a joke.
